Matthew Lamour
(a.k.a. XoDus)
Aspiring Full Stack Engineer
Who am I?

Welcome to my personal website! My name is Matthew Lamour (my online alias since 2016 is 'XoDus'), and I am an aspiring full stack software engineer. I use various tools and technologies you can learn more about below. I am currently a student at the University of New Haven, set to graduate in May 2024 with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and a minor in Mathematics. I am also a graphic designing, Japanese language learning, and PC building hobbyist.

My philosphy when it comes to not only software development, but life in general, is to always be learning and adapting. There is always something new to learn in this world, and this field, like life itself, is ever-changing. I always try to be as adaptable and resourceful as possible whenever I am faced with a new challenge, so expect this site to be updated frequently with new technologies learned and new projects created!

I am always looking for new opportunities to learn and grow from others, and love finding new projects to work on, no matter my prior level of experience! I am open to new opportunities for internships and full-time positions. Feel free to reach out to me via my contact information at the bottom of this page, preferably through email!

Frontend

Next.js

Tailwind

React

TypeScript

I have most recently gained experience with frontend development in Next.js, Tailwind, React, and TypeScript. I have used these technologies to create frontend systems for various projects, and am constantly learning more about these technologies and improving my frontend skills.

Backend

Python

C/C++

C#

Java

MySQL

Postgres

The first programming language I started learning (in 2018) was Python, and I have used it extensively for various projects. I have also picked up and used C and C++ extensively, but also C#, and Java for backend development in university. I have also used MySQL and Postgres for database management in university and personal projects.

Tools

Git

GitHub

Windows

Linux

Bash

Heroku

Vercel

Figma

ChatGPT

Copilot

Visual Studio

Jetbrains IDEs

I have experience with many of the oft-used tools that developers use in their day-to-day work, like the quintessential Git and GitHub. I am native to Windows, but have experience with many Linux distros and use of bash. I have used Figma for UI/UX prototyping, Vercel and Heroku for hosting, and use ChatGPT and Copilot for the ever-increasing importance that AI assistance has in development work in Visual Studio and Jetbrains IDEs.

and more!

Outside of software development, I have over 8 years of graphic design experience with Photoshop, over 7 years of self-studying the Japanese language, multiple years of producing YouTube videos with OBS, Vegas Pro and Davinci Resolve, years of working with Virtual Machines, and multiple PC building projects, including builds for myself and assisting others in the part-picking and building processes.
